Chien-Ming Wang
王建民

Chien-Ming "Tiger" Wang
Bats: Right
Throws: Right
Height: 6'3"
Weight: 225 lbs.
Born: March 31, 1980 in Tainan, Taiwan

Rated the best pitcher within the Yankees' organization for years, Wang did not get a chance to prove himself in the Major League level until 2005 when the Yankees rotation took a hit with three starters sent to the DL. A poised pitcher thanks to his numerous international competition experience on the Taiwanese National Team, Wang is not intimidated to attack the strike zone, and he earns praises from the coaching staff and fellow teammates. In 2006, just Wang's second season in the Major League, he compiled 19 victories, the most by an Asian pitcher in a single season. Pictured here is his 2003 Bowman's Best rookie card, where he has autographed for me marvelously in Chinese.
