Tsuyoshi Shinjo
A charismatic player who owns an excellent glove defensively in the outfield. But hitting around the Mendoza line earned him a one way ticket down to the Minor League in 2003. Shinjo eventually went back to finish his baseball career in Japan and now has a new career going as a model. Shinjo became the first Japanese player to ever appear in the World Series while he was with the San Francisco Giants in 2002. Shinjo's personality and good looks have endeared themselves to female baseball fans and has made him one of the most popular players in Japan despite not being in the echelon of elite players. Pictured here is his 2003 Topps Gallery card, showing his famous flamboyant orange wristband.
