Satoru Komiyama
Bats: Right
Throws: Right
Height:  6'2"
Weight: 195 lbs.
Born: September 15, 1965 in Chiba, Japan

Labeled as the Japanese Greg Maddux because of his good control, Komiyama pitched nothing like the future Hall of Famer in his only season in America. After finishing the 2002 season in the Minors, Komiyama said he wanted to end his career as a Major Leaguer, and without any other team offering him a contract, he retired. Komiyama spent a year as a baseball commentator back in Japan. But after Bobby Valentine return to manage in Japan, Komiyama came out of retirement just to play for the very respectable Valentine. Pictured here is his 2002 Donruss Originals rookie card, with the 1986 old school style on it.
